As for “River of Bones”? Well that one is for the fans. I have received hundreds of emails, DMs, and in-person requests asking me when I would return to Maggie and Kai. The truth is that I thought I had closed that chapter of my creative journey, but when my editor asked me to consider revisiting the Sixth World to give the world some closure, I couldn’t say no. I also very much wanted to visit the Burque (a post-apocalyptic Albuquerque) where Kai has some unfinished business with a certain ex-girlfriend.
